Daimler group’s South American subsidiary has chosen T-Systems as one of the best out of 3,000 suppliers.
During its 18th supplier meeting, Mercedes-Benz Brazil honored the Brazilian Telekom subsidiary in the category of non-producing suppliers. 600 out of a total of 3,000 companies had applied for the “Supplier of the Year” award. Jürgen Ziegler, president of Mercedes-Benz Brazil, and his management board praised T-Systems for the close cooperation and support, especially in times of the economic crisis, for the flexibility in implementing projects, the innovative spirit and the service quality.
The automotive group in Brazil had already extended the contract with T-Systems to the end of 2012 at the beginning of this year. The Telekom subsidiary is responsible for the Daimler group’s information technology and telecommunications in Brazil – from infrastructure to system integration. Only recently did T-Systems develop a so-called cockpit tool for the IT managers of Mercedes-Benz Brazil. With this tool, those responsible always have an overview of the most important ICT key figures, such as the current server utilization. In addition, T-Systems operates the development system “SMARAGD” for the automotive giant in Brazil and in other countries. This system enables 7,500 automotive engineers at 30 international locations to jointly work on projects.
Signal on the international market
“Daimler and Mercedes-Benz are synonymous for quality. This is why we are all the more pleased that we came out on top out of 3,000 non-producing suppliers with this award," says Elke Anderl who is responsible for Daimler's international business at T-Systems. “We were able to convince the customer with our flexibility and service quality,” adds Camilo Rubim, account manager for Mercedes in Brazil. T-Systems already garnered several global sales successes in the past weeks – among them orders from BP and Philips.
