Safe wireless use of voice and data

T-Systems presents new SiMKo 2 prototypes with voice encryption at CeBIT 2010. Other innovations: Encoded email transmission and new smartphone models.
A smartphone on the outside, a maximum security device on the inside: The federal government has decided to equip around 350 organizations with the highly secure smartphone SiMKo (Sichere Mobile Kommunikation = Secure Mobile Communication). Essentially, the devices will transmit emails and other data in encrypted format and with a certificate that proves the confidentiality, authenticity and integrity of the data.
T-Systems is now also integrating voice encryption. The ICT service provider is debuting its prototypes for the new models at CeBIT; T-Systems plans to launch the actual product on the market this year. “We have successfully completed important voice encryption development steps but still have to run a number of tests,” says Stephan Maihoff, who is responsible for developing the security solution.

T-Systems has also further developed the SiMKo models as regards data security. “With our security concept, email recipients can only read the email after they have entered a PIN that decodes the messages," says Maihoff.
SiMKo can be used with various HTC models; visitors can view three new devices at CeBIT. From this selection government agencies and industrial enterprises can choose the device that optimally meets the needs of their employees.
